swiss typefaces presents / Font Market 2012

Next Saturday (15 of December), we will be at the Font Market in Zurich.

We will not sell anything, but take this opportunity to present a project we find relevant in the typographic field.

swiss typefaces presents:
swiss typefaces invites designer Thibault Brevet to collaborate and experiment with the open-source vector plotter that he developed as part of his recent graduation project at ECAL Grand-Central.
Ian Party, Emmanuel Rey and Andrea Anner will experiment with shapes/characters and print on the reworked version of the machine.

The idea behind Font Market is to make possible a personal meeting with font designers. It promotes personal exchange and allows participants and visitors to discover and discuss the latest developments and trends.

Terrain Vague (workshop)

After three typographic posters workshops at ECV Provence, I was invited to lead a type design workshop.
—
The students designed a large family of fonts, intended to be used as headline typefaces in a magazine workshop later this year.
Each group of students was given a specific section or article of the future magazine (the group in charge of the cover chose PAVANE as the name of the magazine and designed its logotype).
They never had the opportunity to design outside Illustrator, to generate font files, etc., so I also quickly introduced them to RoboFont (thanks!), drawing and font production with a professional and dedicated software during the week.
And of course, at the end, it was essential to design and print a specimen to show the typefaces at their best.
